Introducing Casa Verazzano
Set in the foothills of the Alpi di Poti with spectacular views of the Upper Tiber Valley and the distant Apennines, Casa Verazzano is one of seven stone houses in the 12th century hamlet of Verazzano. The oldest part of this beautifully restored Tuscan house was originally owned and used by the monks of the Camaldoli in the 11th and 12th centuries.
The House & Hamlet
Casa Verazzano is situated at the entrance to the hamlet of Verazzano, just ten minutes drive from the beautiful village of Anghiari. The house's breakfast pergola and outdoor dining room overlook the stunning valley towards the ever changing Apennines, while the views from the private pool area to the cyprus dotted hills and olive groves behind the house are equally spectacular, and typically Tuscan.
Casa Verazzano has three supremely comfortable double bedrooms (double beds), two en suite bathrooms and dressing rooms, a bright, spacious and fully equipped kitchen, dining room seating 12, and a large but cosy sitting room with a fully functional. medieval open fireplace.
Just up the hill lies the idyllic, almost deserted hamlet of Verazzano, with its little church. From here you can stroll up through woodland trails in the mountains, or into the valley, soaking up some of the best rural atmosphere Tuscany has to offer.
Anghiari
Enclosed in massive 13th century walls, Anghiari looks out over the beautiful High Tiber Valley landscape, a breathtaking natural amphitheatre, while the surrounding countryside has an untouched atmosphere with ancient woods dotted with monasteries and archaeological sites.
Artisan shops and the workrooms of furniture and antiques restorers enrich the small squares of the town; its towers and churches are embellished with masterpieces of painting and sculpture, and there are breathtaking views and vistas to be found from every corner of the ancient town.
